“New therapeutic molecules developed at Toronto’s Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) show promise in reversing the memory loss linked to depression and aging.
These molecules not only rapidly improve symptoms, but remarkably, also appear to renew the underlying brain impairments causing memory loss in preclinical models.”
Being a person who’s experienced depression and the unavoidable ravages of time, I personally would be elated if this panned out as an actual treatment. I inherited a less-than-perfect memory from my mother, and the possibility that I could take a medication to improve upon it is exciting.
It makes me curious about the effects, would they universally improve recall, or would certain periods of time in our lives come rushing back?
What time of your life would you be excited to have perfect recall of again?
